The Monkeys have been intensely rehearsing over the past few weeks to bring you a very special “That’s Weird, Grandma.” “Fun O’Clock: A Very Special That’s Weird, Grandma” starts TONIGHT! It’s bigger, louder, and special-er than any “That’s Weird, Grandma” ever performed!
Smarter!
Sassier!
Scarier!
Cheerier!
The show runs tonight through Saturday, July 25 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, July 26 at 6:30pm. Tickets are $17.50. The theater is at Fullerton and…well, it’s on the lake. Not literally. But close. Call the Theater On The Lake Box Office at 312-742-7994 for ticket information, or just show up!

That's Weird Grandma
Touring Performances
For the first time since 2006, Barrel of Monkeys will be performing at Theater On The Lake, July 22-26!
“Fun O’Clock: A Very Special That’s Weird, Grandma” collects some of our favorite stories from our almost 12-year (!) history. You’ll see some TWG hits from the past couple years, some brand new stories from the last school year that have never been performed for the public, and even a really old story from the formative years of BOM (the author has likely graduated from high school by now). The stage is big, the stories are amazing, and there’s even a set! (Whoa.)
Please note that because of this very special TWG, there will be no regular Monday night TWG on July 20 or July 27. However, we will return to Mondays at the Neo-Futurist Theater on August 3.
Here’s the full listing of Theater On The Lake shows (scroll down a bit to see the BOM listings). We’re running Wednesday, July 22 through Saturday, July 25 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, July 26 at 6:30pm. That's Weird Grandma
Last chance to see this particularly stupendous show and cast!
After Monday’s show, we will be dark for 2 weeks (7/20 & 7/27) as we will be performing at Theater on the Lake!
When TWG re-opens on August 3, at least 5 stories will be different and the cast will be totally new.
So, come see THIS show before it vanishes!
The new story this week is an oldie and a goodie - I am a Super Hero. A little a the ole song and dance…

It boggles the mind how much hilarious material is in the show right now.
This week’s additions are no exception.
The THREE new stories you will be treated to if you attend the July 6th show are:
1. Indians - a short, action-packed poem in which an Indian named Bobcat fights a rat.
2. 3 Monkeys at the Beach - a physical comedy extravaganza where monkeys chase each other.
3. Untitled (Water Park) - in which Michael shares his most favoritest parts about his favorite water park.

“The same to you Spikey Bones”. It’s back!
If you were at TWG sometime between 2004-2006, chances are you saw “Spikey Bones and Rose”.
It’s a Harold Pinter-esque dialogue, and a company and audience favorite, and we’re bringing it back, starting TONIGHT.
That’s what you get in Ye Olde Tymers round of TWG. Well, that and the beautifully eerie “The Woman in the Red Dress”, a new piece which will haunt your dreams.
