CHICAGO & NEON’S SMOOTHIE ADVENTURE

By Lucy, Franklin, Adith, Cameron, George, Berger Park

Once upon a time, there was a sloth named Chicago. They lived in the forest with their best friend Neon, a bird. Neon and Chicago loved to eat fruit. Chicago’s favorite fruit was oranges. Neon’s favorite fruit was mango. Neon + Chicago were hungry, but none of the trees in the forest had any oranges or mangoes. Chicago and neon followed the Illinois River through the forest to get to the grocery store. At the grocery store, they bought mangoes, oranges, apples, and a ninja blender. They took everything back to the forest, and made smoothies for the rest of the animals. And they lived happily ever after. The end.

GORDON RAMSAY STRIKES AGAIN

By Emma, Kye, Sebastian, Cherokee Elementary

In New York at midnight in 1975, the Statue of Liberty is walking out of her motel. Gordon Ramsay comes straight from Hell’s Kitchen & uses a freeze ray to freeze her into a statue. For no reason. Just cause he’s mean. A cop drags GR to jail for 10 years for his crimes. Statue of Liberty’s friend unfreezes her with a torch 5 years later, but 5 years after that, it all happens again, but he doesn’t get caught. And that’s how we got the Statue of Liberty. The End.

TEDDY’S DREAM

By Rakofi, Poe Classical School

Teddy was a baby bear. He was as soft as a pillow made from the finest feathers glued together by marshmallow taffy. One day he saw the most beautiful hive of honey. It was gold to his little sparkly eyes. Ahhh! To just get a taste of that honey would make his heart explode with joy! He climbed the big oak into the clouds as if he were climbing the ladder to paradise. He got the honey and came down smiling happily to the earth below. The End.

IN THE SNACK PLANE

By Nico, Margo, Zariyah, Liv, Mara & Falcon, Drummond Montessori

We love vacations, especially the airport. Sometimes you can drive & park at the airport or take an Uber. When we get to the airport we are hungry. We eat snacks like cheese chips. Sometimes we want to buy airport food, but Mara’s mom says it’s too expensive. There are a lot of planes at the airport, they are different colors, they are big, and made of funky shapes like rectangles and triangles. Before we get on planes we feel excited + happy because on the plane we do fun stuff, Mara brings her pink iPad & headphones to watch Wicked, Margot watches Wicked, Sonic, Now You See Me, and Newsies. Nico doesn’t watch movies, he listens to songs. Mara wakes her mom up lots of times to tell her things. When the plane lands we feel excited to be in a new place of the world! The End.

By Eames, Lo, Mason, Zairab, Nori, 4th Grade, Peirce International School

There once was a hero named Super Slapper, who was bitten by a radioactive hand. His whole body is a hand, and on his fingers are tiny hands. His brain is as big as a peanut. His nemesis, the Clapper and he did not know that they are siblings separated at birth. One day they had a big fight. Slap! Bam! Clap! They fought furiously. Clapper looks like two hands stuck together. Suddenly, someone named Glove entered and stood between Clapper and Super Slapper. Super Slapper made the biggest slap in the world, and slapped Clapper into two hands. “Stop!” yelled Glove, “we are all siblings, don’t fight.” Ahhhhhh, everyone fainted except for Glove and Erin who was 1 half of the Clapper. The End.

UNTITLED (THE ARTIST)

By Zoe, Skinner West Elementary

Once upon a time there was an artist and he loved all his paintings. But something was different when he made one picture. He didn’t like it!!! Because he always did his paintings in color but he did this in black and white. The artist was shocked and he never wanted that feeling again so he stopped painting. 2 years later the artist redeemed himself and started painting and he loved his new artwork. He soon sold his painting and only when he sold one painting he was rich. The artist learned to believe in himself even when you don’t like what you did. The End.
