That's Weird Grandma TWG Weekly Update

Ah, the blank canvas that is both this empty square (no more!) and the infinite possibility before us now that 320 new stories are eligible to be in That’s Weird, Grandma.
You see, Celebration of Authors, which was on Tuesday, marks the end of our school show season and so all the fine theatrical pieces we created during the year are now eligible to be in That’s Weird, Grandma.
What I’m telling you is that Monday night’s show is going to be packed with fresh, hilarious and new material that you will want to come experience.

Take The Vegan Vampire for instance. Super.
or
The Poor Old Lady. A little nutty, right? Well our resident Musical Director has transformed it into a song NOT TO BE MISSED.

Also, we welcome back to the stage not one but TWO company members returning from afar. They are top talents.
They are Erica Halverson and Ricardo Gamboa, Esq.
Erica is one of the founders of Barrel of Monkeys. Ricardo is the 9th most popular Chicago native on Facebook.

If you’re strapped for cash (who isn’t?!) you can say, “vegan vampire” at the box office to get $2 off your ticket.
You will like it.

Babysitter Robots and a Grand Finale (TWG 5/30)

That's Weird Grandma TWG Weekly Update

Let’s face it: technology is a hot topic. We are a society frantically trying to keep up with new technological inventions. Just getting or experiencing a new technological interface is the zeitgeist. This hardly leaves time to assess whether our new device or app or robot is good or actually improving our life.
Fortunately, Jose from Avondale School has pondered the tough questions for us in his argument-
I think we should have babysitter robots.
He weighs the good and the bad- efficiency vs. human connection, taking vs. deferring responsibility for one’s children… it’s all there.

Also, this is your last chance to see this particular cast performing these particular stories. I know the show changes every week, but certain cast members will have their last show on Monday and so certain popular stories will likely leave the show.

Have you seen, for example, The Model? Good Days? I am a Dragon?

Popular, great, not to be missed.
Be there.

$2 off at the box office by saying, “babysitter robots”

Demi’s demise (TWG on May 16th)

That's Weird Grandma TWG Weekly Update

Friends of the internets,
That’s Weird, Grandma continues to swell with greatness. We took out Untitled (Beach) because, let’s face it, does anyone even know who Demi Lovato is anymore?
I don’t. But I never really did. Demi, we never knew ya.
Joining the show this week are:
I am a Dragon
And
The Limo Party. The Limo Party has a lot of celebrity appearances, but they are more recognizable celebrities to a 20-37 something crowd than Demi Lovato.
I’m sorry, Demi Lovato. I don’t know what you did to deserve my ambivalence on this blog post, except star in a Disney Channel show I’ve never seen cause I can’t afford cable.
Password for $2 off this week is “Demi Lovato”.
Be there.
