School Shows

For all of you who missed the Dixon School show this morning, let me just tell you that it was INCREDIBLE! I was so excited to see all of the students I worked with as well as meet all of the other talented kids at Dixon!

I’m a little bummed that the show is over….but I won’t be sad for long, because I know you’ll keep writing those amazing stories and I hope the next time I see all of you that those journals are full of new and creative things to share! I had a blast working on this show, and I had an even better time seeing all of your wonderful faces in the audience.

Till next time! Kaitlen

School Shows

OH MY GOSH I CAN’T SLEEP AND I’M UP WAY PAST MY BEDTIME BECAUSE I’M SO STINKIN’ EXCITED ABOUT THE DIXON SHOW TOMORROW MORNING!!!!

My apologies for that…but seriously, I’m really, really pumped about the awesome show we have to perform for the delightful Dixon kids. Tonight—man oh man was rehearsal rockin’ tonight! We did an action-packed run through of YOUR show from top to bottom and worked out all of our kinks.

As we’ve gone through this week of rehearsal, I consider myself a much more educated individual. Before the Dixon show, I had no idea what the Swag was, didn’t know you could do the Surf without an ocean, and I thought a Dougie was slang for one of the best 90’s cartoons of all time. But NOW…well, let’s just say that girl up on stage who’s gettin’ those dance moves on—yeah, that’s me. Or, if I could use some more training, just come find me after the show. I like to think of myself as a professional non-dancer who needs a helping hand now and then.

But long story short—thanks to YOU and the incredible work you wrote, I’ve now learned four new dances AND a handful of original songs to add to my repertoire. So, thanks, Dixon students. This show has been a blast to work on, and I can’t wait to see you, and for you to see your stories onstage in….ten hours and twenty minutes! Better start counting sheep…1…2…3….4…llama…5…6…7….

Ladies and Gents, I have to say one of the best parts of doing a show with Anthony, is the amazingly, fantastic snack table he brings to rehearsal. Yes, we all know him as an super talented actor and all around good guy; but have you tried the tasty asparagus or the glutton free cookies, that’s good stuff baby!

With out question, Meredith’s puppets for “The Bone Family” are absolutely spectacular; but on Monday our snack table had fresh fruit and pie…say what!!! I’ll bet you’ll rush to sign up next time Courser’s in a show.

Carly busts an ice cold rap about texting, with Annie, McKenzie and Lacy doing some awesome hip hop moves in the back ground, but all the while I have my eye on the fresh bread and the carrots. Oh yeah!!!

But in all seriousness yall, come check out the Dixon Show. The snack table is great, but the show is going to be phenomenal!!

School Shows

Happy Monday Everyone!!! Now, you may be thinking to yourself “Hmm, Monday mornings aren’t usually my favorite mornings, harumpf!” and they usually aren’t mine either—- but today is different. Today is Dixon rehearsal number 3 AND 4 days before our awesome show down at the Dixon School! Today, we start to mold all of your incredible stories which we have created into plays into the beginnings of what will be THE DIXON SHOW! Get excited, folks.

As for rehearsal number two….welllllll, all I’ll say is this: skeletons, talking burgers, and atomic waste gone wrong.

So, as I sip my cup of joe this morning, going over lines in my head, I hope you’ll get as pumped about I am about the upcoming school show. Awesome stories, awesome cast, and an awesome Monday. To rehearsal! Monkey on, and Dix-on.
