That's Weird Grandma
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Know what gets a full week back at work off to a good start? Seeing Barrel of Monkeys, of course!
Because of the holiday, we didn’t have a rehearsal this week so the show is the same as last week. Which means it is really really good. Also, tomorrow (Tuesday) is the first of our three special summertime matinees. We’re expecting a really good crowd tomorrow, but could use some more folks for the 15th and 22nd. We hear often that 8pm on a Monday is too late for the little ones, so we encourage you to play hooky from whatever usually keeps you occupied at 11:00am on a Tuesday and join us at the Neo-Futurarium. Tickets are, of course, available in advance.
The running order for tonight and tomorrow is after the jump. We’ll change it up again for next week, never fear.

We’re back from Milwaukee and ready to go! Kurt has promised to write more about the actual AG Bell performance and trip as a whole, so I won’t spoil it by revealing any of the details.
Luckily we all got back in time for rehearsal on Sunday and the show tonight. We’ve added two dialogues to the running order, and under the guest direction of Lauren Sharpe (Laura Grey is on a quick vacation) the show should be fantabulous. Full running order after the jump—and as always, you can buy your tickets online!
Also, remember we have THREE special matinees coming up in July! Tuesdays at 11:00, July 8, 15 and 22.

Hi!
It’s going to be awesome you guys. I mean, it’s always awesome, but every week I get to come up with another reason. Tonight it’s because it is finally really summer, and that means we’re going to have a good house. We’ve got 50 people on the books already (for a typical show we’d have about 20 reservations, theater capacity is 150), which means we’ll probably get about 100 people at the show. Which is awesome, because when there are a lot of people in the audience the show has extra energy. So, yes, you should come and make it an even bigger audience.
Also, we’ve added “The Crying Woman”, which is a child’s take on a famous folk tale, and is really amazing and moving. Full running order after the jump.

Celebration of Authors
It’s been an amazing week at BOM. Celebration of Authors was a fantastic show. We had our biggest house ever, at a big fancy theater, with a huge cast. The performances were great It was really wonderful. If you missed it, no worries! You can come to TWG tonight to see some of the stories we performed last Tuesday. Delightful! There are also some videos on YouTube that you really won’t want to miss.
After you’ve laughed at the ninjas and been moved by the appeal to stop the fighting, you’ll need to come to TWG. Full running order for tonight’s show after the jump. As always, you can buy your tickets online in advance with a credit card, or pay cash at the door.

If you’ve come to TWG in the last two years, odds are our House Manager Jon sold you your ticket. He’s been a huge help to BOM for more than two years, and we will miss him a lot…as he is moving out of Chicago in two weeks.
I tried to do a little math. Jon has house managed more than 100 nights of TWG, which not only means that he’s seen the show that many times, but also that he’s spent a couple of hours each week making programs, taking reservations, tracking down forms, and sending house reports. He’s certainly spent more than 300 hours on the CTA commuting to and from the theater. He’s done all of this for free, because he’s just that kind of guy.
People like Jon are what make companies like BOM work. We’re a small non-profit. We can’t pay someone to work at the box office, and it’s incredibly helpful to have the same person at the show week after week, able to answer questions and solve problems without getting flustered or having to call the office. He’s good with people, charming to children and generally delightful to have around.
If you are at the show tonight, Jon’s last show for the foreseeable future, make sure to tell him thanks, and that you appreciate all his work for us.
If you think you might like to be the next Monkey House Manager (or know someone else who might) details after the jump.
