Easter Surprise
By Donrell, LaKrista, Jauvar, Rakia, Vanika, Marquita, Dewey School
Once backstage in a school auditorium, 10 students were rehearsing for a play
called “Easter Surprise.” They were all in a line except Katie. Katie was in a bunny suit.
It made her fell sad because she wasn’t dressed like the rest of them. The other kids were
all dancers, but Katie had to be in the front and sing and hop like a bunny. Because she
was the star of the play and she didn’t want to be. She wanted to be like the others. On
the day of the play, there were 300 people in the audience: parents, teachers, students,
aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents, brothers and sisters, godparents…Katie came out
hopping and singing. The other kids were dancing. The audience clapped and said “Woo!
That’s my baby!” Katie felt excited and happy. “Hippity hop the bunny go.”

I am a butcher and I love meat love me and the meat’s so good for people.
I’m a butcher and I love meat
Let me count the ways
One, meat is so good for people
Two, meat can be so juicy
Three, meat can be so meatish
Four, meat is so tender
Five, meat is good for you
Six, meat is a nice thing to eat
Seven, you can put it on a grill and you can put lots of juicy things on it
That’s why I love meat.
