That's Weird Grandma
TWG Weekly Update
Once in a while you get to make really fun choices as Artistic Director; say, making actors put on ridiculous costumes or what style of pencil cup you would like in your new office.
The decision I made this week is still more exciting. In honor of our 10th year, we are putting the most popular story in the history of That’s Weird, Grandma back into the show.
It is, of course, The Dog Was Dead.
I was in the original cast of this piece when we first performed it at the Dewey school. During rehearsals, I never got through the piece without breaking.
If you are unfamiliar, I will not try to describe it, but merely tell you you should come see our play (and maybe get your tickets early because all the die-hard “Dog Was Dead” fans who told us they wouldn’t come back to TWG until we put the piece back in the show will, presumably, be clamoring and salivating for seats.)
Passphrase for $2 off is “woof woof woof and mmmmmm.”

See you there!

That's Weird Grandma
TWG Weekly Update
Hi!
We are so excited about tonight’s That’s Weird Grandma. We hope you are coming to see it!
We said goodbye to (Untitled) Monkey Bars Birthday but we added another tale of party woe:
The Badest Day Ever- Idaly thinks she’s going to have a fun pizza party sleepover until her friends go party crazy.
We also replaced The Dog on Monster Truck with another short story:
My old Brother- a tale of brotherly love and water balloons?
And if that is not enough, come see Helena one last time before she heads back to Texas for the school year.
$2 off password (inspired by the Badest Day Ever) shall be ‘1234’.
This show’s going to make your summer!

That's Weird Grandma
TWG Weekly Update
Hi, it’s me, Meredith, the substitute director for That’s Weird Grandma for the next two weeks!
In case you don’t know what a TWG director gets to do, the following are just some of the amazing things I got to do this past week!!!
1. I get to hang out with an amazing cast and help them make an amazing show even more amazing.
2. I get to watch the show week after week!
3. I get to tally up the votes and see what stories you, the audience, cut from our show.
4. I get to watch old Monkey DVDs over and over again to script out new stories.
5. I get to determine the running order for this amazing show!
6. I get to give the cast a huge thumbs up to start the show while they are backstage!
7. And, if that wasn’t enough, I get to choose the secret password for the week!
$2 off password shall be ‘Chops’.
Why chops?
Well…this week we bid farewell to Eddie’s Rims and to What a life, Fingers? And we say hello to:
The Shark That Chops: a Gilbert & Sullivan style adaptation of a story about a shark that just can’t stop chopping things. Let’s hope he doesn’t chop his family!
The Three Best Friends Going to the Mall: an amazing dialogue on cell phones performed word for word inclusive of student written stage directions.
I promise these additions will only make you love this show more!

That's Weird Grandma
TWG Weekly Update
With a show already hilariously successful, imagine how much more hilariously successful it could be after four more hours of practice? Can you imagine it?
These imaginings can be reality if you attend on Monday….
Also that downer of an Immigration Argument is gone, so now it’s just unadulterated summertime laughs.
Joining the run this week are:
Twins- like a Brit version of the Devito/Schwarzenegger comedy of the same name, only the twins are girls. And no tacky late 80’s garb. Actually, it’s nothing like that movie.
Monkey Bars Birthday - can Rebecca’s birthday party be salvaged after the cake falls in the grass??????
$2 off password shall be ‘TWINS’.
Full running order with updated story links below.
You will like it.
