That's Weird Grandma
In the immortal words of Rachel, Barrel of Monkeys is tired.
So we’re taking a couple of weeks off from “That’s Weird, Grandma”. There will be no performances November 3, 10, 17th. Yes, that’s right: Your next chance to see the show is November 24th.
This is the first time we’ve taken Mondays off since April, and as you can imagine we’re all looking forward to a little rest after the summer, Fancy Schmancy, and all the rest.
In honor of Halloween, please enjoy the following story and accompanying illustration by Jose R., who was in the 4th grade at Columbia Explorers academy when he wrote it in 2004.

That's Weird Grandma
Thank you again to everyone who participated in the “Free Night of Theater” promotion. We got some fabulous crowds as a result and hope that we’ll see many of you back again in the near future.
More than 120 people were introduced to “That’s Weird, Grandma” because of this nation-wide promotion and we hope that those of you who were able to attend the reception last night got a chance to ask the actors/staff any of your burning questions about the show. If not, remember you can always contact us for more information!
We look forward to participating again next year.

That's Weird Grandma
Happy Columbus Day! I hope many of you get to take the extra long weekend day, especially in Chicago where the weather is so unseasonably pleasant. At least this second.
This week we have two brand-spanking-new stories to add to the mix. Golf Scorpions will introduce you to a villain you’d never heard of before, whereas The Hooks of the Seven Seas will teach you about why it’s helpful to have a hook for a hand, among other things. If that doesn’t quite make sense you’ll just have to come to the show tonight for the full details.

It’s a whole new round of TWG. The new cast will be in just for the month of October, and I can bet there will be some scary stories for them later on this month.
Meanwhile the new stories for this week include the old favorite “BMX bikers” as well as “It was a cold day” and “when I know how to ride my bike”

That's Weird Grandma
Tonight will be the first performance of TWG in many months not featuring Cowboys Who Fighted. The story will be missed, but if you didn’t see it at least once, then…you haven’t been coming to TWG enough this year. I kid. A little.
It’s being replaced by a delightful story from last year that has never before been seen by the public. Exciting!
Also, tonight is the last week of what we call “round 1” of this year. New cast starts next week, so this is your last chance for at least two months to see the prodigious talents of the folks like Tai, Tom, Mary Winn, Tim, Donnell, Kurt, Erick and Meredith who will be cycling out of the show. If that’s not incentive I don’t know what is.
