That's Weird Grandma TWG Weekly Update

People. For the 12/20 and 12/27 shows, we’re adding even more holiday themed stories to the run. Consider all stops officially pulled out.
And they’re classics, these new stories.

The Time I Ate A Christmas Ball has almost certainly been in every holiday show since it was penned and adapted during W.’s first term. It’s our ‘Free Bird’, It’s our ‘Who’s on First’. It’s our ‘The Day I Stuck My Head in a Barstool’.
The other classic joining the run is only slightly less well known. I’ve put it in each holiday show I’ve directed because I love it. Last year I made my wife put it in the show when she was directing, because I wanted to sing it.
It is, of course, Untitled (Oh My God, I Found My Sister’s Friend)—the beautiful new year’s song where all is right with the world just before the ball drops.

Before you go, here is a picture of The Ultimate Snowball Warrior, portrayed by Curtis Williams.

If you haven’t seen this piece (The Time We Had a Snowball Fight), you must.

On Dec. 20 OR Dec. 27 say “Solid Man” at the box office and you will get $2 off your ticket price.

That's Weird Grandma TWG Weekly Update

The brand sparklin’ new cast of the HOLIDAY ROUND of TWG is attractive, talented and already in the holiday spirit. A while back, an informal tradition of having a snack table at rehearsals started wherein people bring munchies or baked goods to share. This morning for our 10am-1pm rehearsal Brandon, frequent provider of baked goods for the snack table, brought in a whole delicious ham! Erick brought pastrami, cheese, coffee, cookies and elaborate holiday decor. It was the best snack table we’ve ever had.
The ham was so delicious/distracting that I would wander over, starting picking at it and then think, “oh wait, I should probably be watching this show I’m directing.” For a moment, I understood the protagonist’s struggle in The Girl That Wants to Eat Turkey But Cannot Reach.
This holiday show is going to be one for the ages.
Celebration of Authors favorite, The Time We Had a Snowball Fight, is joining the (already powerhouse) run. A story from this year’s Avondale show Santa and Taco Bell also makes it’s premiere.
Many more new and instant classics are waiting to be experienced by YOU.
You simply must come.
$2 off at the box office when you say “The Big Prom”.

Teleportation

That's Weird Grandma TWG Weekly Update

This week, largely due to the talents of resident advanced visual trickery consultant Matt Miller, TWG is able to present advanced visual trickery. The piece in question is entitled, What I Believe In, and it makes a persuasive case for investing in an “Up and Gone” (a teleportation device). I was in dire need of an Up and Gone this morning, for example, when I was running late for rehearsal. The Android app Taxi Magic proved to be the next best thing.
Anyway, we will also feature an adventure story this week where our own Ricky Harris attempts to survive a taxing overland journey and a bear mauling. This piece is entitled Ricky’s Travel.
This is the last show of this round. If, like me, you sometimes feel saturated in holiday schmaltz, you can come this week and see a lot of stories that DON’T have to do with the holidays, before they get replaced by stories that do.
Incentives abound.
One more! If you say ‘Ricky’s Travel’ to the box office people, they will not hand you an itinerary, but rather, two dollars.
Running order below.
See you above the funeral home!
