School Shows

Dear Bomerica,

First of all, thanks to Maggie for her Bomerica Pride-filled comment on the last entry, and also for accidentally creating a game called, “Switch the word “bomerica” with the name of any number of company members, and this comment is still true.”  Long may Matt Miller stand, tall and funny.  For example.  There are others.  The director of this very Little Village show, and director of much else, Luke Hatton; he works as well.  Heck, if it’s just my Dad and I standing in a room, we can throw my name in there.  As long as Luke, Matt, or Lacy Katherine Campbell doesn’t walk in and ruin everything by being funnier and taller.

Well, in case anybody is worried, this Little Village show is shaping up to be quite the treat…...

...........the read more section!

But yes, on the treat that is the under-construction Little Village show.  I’ll tell ya what.  I made the mistake of missing the first rehearsal, choosing instead to be sitting on an airplane in the Mile High City.  The bummer there of course is that you (collective) miss out on some magic, but the NON-bummer in the deal is that when you (yep) return, there are all sorts of great story treats that people have already made.  Just waiting to welcome you like a big quilt made of giggles.  If you haven’t been so lucky, it is a nice welcome back experience to watch Ricky Harris strut down a runway in full sassiness mode, playing the character “Model” in Stephanie D.‘s story, “My Own Story.”  Just as a teaser for everybody, the script informs us that Ricky as Model delivers his lines, “in a mean way,” a “sarcastic way,” and “in a jealous voice.”  So.  Catch the show on Friday morning at Little Village if you want to see Ricky nail it.  Which he will.

ps—I took some paparazzi photos at rehearsal, and as we all were hoping, BOM celebrities are, in fact, just like us.  Those pictures will be on here, I promise.  Imagine if a 90-year old who had spent his last 15 years in a deep, deep, sweet coma suddenly woke up, and a nurse was all, “Hey, great.  You’re back.  Download some of these digital photos onto a blog.”  Then he responded like, “Do you mean upload?”  And the nurse this time was all, “I don’t know.”

Anyway, pretend that the coma man had to figure out how to post those photos.  That’s the speed at which I will get these babies on here.  Just WAIT until you see who was eating yogurt like any regular ‘ol chump.

                                                                                                            Sincerely,
                                                                                                              Brennan
